Friedman Rides for Charity

NEW YORK, NY, June 24 — With tax season successfully behind them, a number of Friedman LLP employees turned their attention to other rewarding challenges: like giving back to the community by riding their bicycles for charity.

On May 22, 2010, a team of Friedman LLP employees rode their bikes 25 to 50 miles in the New Jersey “Coast the Coast” Bike Tour for Multiple Sclerosis to help raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

In an effort to raise even more money for the National MS Society, and to be the highest fundraising CPA firm, Friedman LLP sold custom-made Friedman LLP t-shirts, with all proceeds donated to the National MS Society.

Their efforts paid off: As a team, Friedman LLP raised over $9,000 for the MS Society.

“This was a truly inspiring experience,” said Scott Testa, a partner at Friedman’s North New Jersey location and captain of the bike team. “Everyone on the team had a positive attitude and worked together for an important cause. Team efforts really do pay off.”

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society supports novel research projects around the globe and provides much-needed education, programs and services to everyone who is affected by MS—including the diagnosed, their friends and families, and the health care professionals who work with them.

Friedman’s team members included Andrew Capasso, Mariana Cardenas, Michael Cohen (and his wife Meredith), Joseph Entwistle, Debra Hawkins, Silvia Suarez, Jessica VanRossem and Timothy Wilson.
