NEW YORK, NY, APRIL 6 —  Friedman LLP Quality Review Partner Michele B. Amato has been confirmed as the Vice Chair of the SEC Practice Committee by the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).
 
According to the NYSSCPA, the nomination is a formal recognition of Ms. Amato’s contributions, leadership qualities and past efforts on behalf of the profession. She brings excellent credentials to the appointment, with more than 25 years of experience at both national and regional firms. Ms. Amato has extensive experience leading clients through initial public offerings, reverse mergers, private placements and spin-offs. She is a frequent lecturer on accounting and auditing topics.

The NYSSCPA is one of the largest state accounting organizations in the nation with 30,000 current members. It was incorporated in 1897 to promote accounting advocacy, encourage professional competence, instill public trust, increase recognition and visibility and aid in recruitment and retention.
