NEW YORK, NY, DECEMBER 10—Friedman LLP’s New Jersey Managing Partner Jeff Zudeck has been named to the board of directors of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based Brain Communication Foundation (BCF) and has engaged his firm to provide the Foundation with pro-bono tax services.
Zudeck, a resident of New York City, brings a number of important credentials to the board. He is a prolific fundraiser actively involved in charitable and community organizations at home and counts a number of companies in the technology sector as clients.
BCF is a recently founded charity that helps speech- and mobility-impaired victims of neurodegenerative disease such as ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) improve their quality-of-life, easing their access to costly brain-computer interface (BCI) technology that enables them to communicate using brain signals alone. The technology is the product of more than 20 years of research and study and has been featured in national news programs, most recently CBS’ “60 Minutes.”
BCI is soliciting donations and developing programs to help that technology reach those who need it most. As many as 30,000 Americans are impacted by ALS at any given time, according to the ALS Association.
