Eddie Wong is the partner-in-charge of the Asian-American Business Group at Friedman LLP. He specializes in working with entrepreneurial Asian-American business owners in the United States, as well as servicing emerging businesses with Asian parent companies. Eddie is knowledgeable regarding the tax, operational, and management issues that impact a business in this specialized community, and he works with owners to optimize their understanding of the financial and business community in the United States. Eddie also works with our DFK International affiliate firms in China and Hong Kong, assisting companies in initial public offerings and reverse acquisitions.
Eddie has 20 years of experience in accounting and auditing, including expertise in working with publicly held companies. He is involved with companies in the import/export, wholesale/distribution, apparel, real estate and manufacturing industries, as well as companies involved in providing internet services. He has also assisted clients in seeking financing and is linked to lenders in both the domestic and international banking communities.
Specifically, Eddie has worked in the following areas:
- Advising clients on tax laws impacting their business, especially the laws governing foreign-owned manufacturers
- Strategizing with importers regarding foreign government terms of export, including quotas and duty issues
- Exploring alternative financing arrangements and obtaining significant lines of credit
- Consulting on the business and economic issues that will impact a business owner's profitability, such as cash flow, sales, payroll, and inventory
- Reviewing and recommending software to maximize operational efficiency
- Consulting with companies in China and Hong Kong on issues pertaining to IPOs, reverse acquisitions and investment banking
