We all know the age-old question, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” But how many of us actually follow the career path we dream up as a kid?
At only 13, Amish Mehta, CPA, Partner, and Friedman’s Nonprofit Practice Leader, wrote down in a class assignment that he wanted to be an accountant — and the rest is history.
Last month, following his feature in Journal of Accountancy’s “Last Word” column, Mehta joined host Neil Amato for the Journal’s podcast where they spoke candidly about the profession, his career path, and advice for aspiring accountants.
”Having a degree in accounting is a great entrée to business, opens you to a whole world of possibilities,” Mehta said. “Do your research and consider your passions and be open in your opportunities. You never know where the accounting degree can take you.”
