We are pleased to announce the following senior leadership appointments:
Peter Manzetti, principal, has been named GOVERNANCE, RISK, AND COMPLIANCE PRACTICE LEAD. He has led large-scale, multinational Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), internal audit, risk assessment, compliance readiness, and effectiveness engagements for clients in a variety of industries, including digital currency, gaming, nonprofits, retail, real estate, and manufacturing and distribution. A graduate of Rutgers University College of Engineering and New Jersey Institute of Technology, Peter is actively involved in the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA); Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE); Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA); and Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). He was previously named a Rutgers University School of Engineering (SoE) Industrial and Systems Engineering (“ISE”) Distinguished Alumni. Peter succeeds Kevin Hyams, who remains a Friedman partner.
Michael Sacco has been named PARTNER-IN-CHARGE OF NEW YORK CITY/LONG ISLAND WEST. Key markets for the firm although geographically separated, the two offices are united in servicing clients, Friedman's people first culture, and recruiting. Michael's appointment represents the firm's focus on the continued growth of the NY and Long Island markets. Michael primarily services a range of privately held businesses and their owners in the apparel, consumer products, manufacturing, import/ distribution, e-commerce, architect and engineers, and construction industries. A graduate of Hofstra University, Michael is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and a member of AICPA and the NYSSCPA. He is also a Senior Board Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC Accountants and Bankers and a Board Member of the Viscardi Center. Michael also serves on the Needlers Foundation Steering Committee and is a committee member of the Mann Charitable Foundation.
Lee Sheilds, co-managing partner of Friedman’s South Jersey offices, has been named to the FRIEDMAN MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE effective January 1. Lee brings more than 25 years of experience as a tax professional to the firm’s Management Committee. Over his career at Friedman, Lee has quickly risen as a leader in Friedman’s South Jersey offices and now serves as co-manager. His clients from a wide variety of industries – including the real estate, manufacturing, distribution, technology, medical practices, and service industries – rely on his expertise and come to him for guidance on all facets of their business. Lee’s appointment represents the firm’s continued focus on firm and client expansion in the South Jersey region.
