James Lee is a principal at Friedman LLP and a managing director of the Asia Practice. He specializes in engagements with the entrepreneurial Asian business community in the United States, as well as with joint ventures/subsidiaries of Asian conglomerates.
In his 30-year career, James has worked on a significant number of audit, tax and merger and acquisition engagements for major Korean and Japanese conglomerates, including Samsung, Hyundai, Daewoo, Kolon and Doosan as well as Mitsui, Kawasho and Marubeni Group. As an international audit manager at a Big 4 firm, he discovered untapped opportunities and was responsible for the development of a considerable book of business originating in Asia.
Prior to joining Friedman, James headed his previous firm's Asian practice for five years. His clients have included distributors of consumer products such as electronics, textiles, apparel, footwear and beauty supplies.
